Benchmade SOCP 185 Black is a light and slim tactical knife designed by Greg Thompson. This designer also designed the rest of the SOCP collection and is also the founder of the Special Operations Combative Program, from which the name of this series is derived. Greg Thompson has been dedicated to training special forces for over 20 years and has extensive practical experience. Therefore, the certificate you will receive with each SOCP 185 knife is labeled "Born in the line of duty".
The blade is made of top-quality CPM 3V steel with a Cerakote surface finish. The blade is equipped with a double-edged edge and a full-tang construction. This means that the steel of the blade extends to the end of the handle, making the knife as solid as a rock. The handle scales are made of grippy G10 material, and the handle has cutouts to reduce weight. The full-tang blade slightly protrudes at the end, allowing it to be used as a hammer as well.
The SOCP 185 knife comes with a sheath that can be carried in many ways. On the back of the sheath, there is a clip that allows you to attach the knife to a belt, the inner side of your gear, or MOLLE webbing on a backpack. You can also carry the knife hanging from a belt using the included hanging device. The sheath is equipped with a steel snap-in system that ensures the knife does not fall out of the sheath. To remove the knife from the sheath, push this locking system slightly upwards and then pull the knife out of the sheath. It may require some practice, but it can be easily done with one hand.
