Product Description
The Bestech Liger BG61D Light Blue folding pocket knife is a robust, large knife ideal for everyday carry (EDC), crafted by American designer Keanu Alfaro.
The Wharncliffe blade features a plain edge and flat grind, made from Stonewashed D2 tool steel. This type of steel has been utilized for various cutting tools since World War II due to its toughness, ease of sharpening, and excellent edge retention. However, it is not fully stainless, so caution is advised around moisture and acids. Without proper care, D2 steel may discolor or rust, so it's crucial to clean and dry the blade after use.
The blade's opening mechanism operates smoothly thanks to a ceramic ball bearing, and it can be opened using a dual thumb stud located on both sides of the wedge. The upper jimping wedge on the back features a notched thumb rest. The knife is secured with a sturdy B-Lock (Cross Bar).
This crossbar moves horizontally within longitudinal cutouts in the steel side plates of the handle frame. When the knife is opened, the locking bar overlaps the back of the blade from above, preventing it from closing. Two springs press down on this beam. To unlock, pull back the locking bar, accessible through cutouts in the handle grips. In the locked position, the bar presses against the cam surface at the back of the blade, preventing accidental opening.
The handle is crafted from light blue G10, a composite material made of glass fibers and synthetic resin, providing a hard, strong, and comfortable grip.
The two-position, right/left deep carry clip allows for discreet pocket carry in a tip-up position (with the blade tip pointing upward).
