Product Description
The folding pocket knife Bestech Liger BG61E Purple is a robust, large knife ideal for everyday carry (EDC), crafted by American designer Keanu Alfaro.
The Wharncliffe blade features a plain edge and flat grind, constructed from Black Stonewashed D2 tool steel. This type of tool steel has been utilized for various cutting tools since World War II. It is durable, easy to sharpen, and maintains its sharpness effectively. However, it is important to be cautious around moisture and acids, as D2 is not fully stainless. It may discolor or even rust if not properly maintained. Therefore, it is crucial to clean and dry the blade after each use.
The blade's opening mechanism operates smoothly, supported by ceramic ball bearings, and can be opened using a dual thumb stud located on both sides of the wedge. The upper jimping wedge on the back features a notched thumb rest. The entire mechanism is secured with a sturdy B-Lock (Cross Bar).
This crossbar moves horizontally within longitudinal cutouts in the steel side plates of the handle frame. When the knife is opened, the locking bar overlaps the back of the blade from above, preventing any backward movement. This bar is held in place by two springs. To unlock, simply pull back the locking bar, with its ends accessible through cutouts in the grips on the sides of the handle. In the locked position, the bar presses against the cam surface at the back of the blade, preventing it from opening unintentionally.
The handle of this pocket knife is crafted from purple G10, a composite material made of glass fibers and synthetic resin. It is hard, strong, and provides a comfortable grip.
The two-position, right/left deep carry clip allows for discreet pocket carry in a tip-up position (with the tip of the blade facing upward).
